Staff Pick Notes

Voluptuous and minerally? Yes, these seemingly disparate traits mingle nicely in this white Burgundy. It's a delicious, all-occasion bottle for connoisseurs and novices alike. Auxey-Duresses is a less-explored region for white wines, and is all the more approachable for it. The vineyard of "Les Boutonniers" sits at the southwestern edge sharing the Mélian hill with Meursault. The finely textured soils here amplify the flint and citrus flavors in the wine. It's full bodied with pleasant consistency, but it's not overpowering by any means. Meyer lemons, yellow pears, almonds, and an exquisite freshness are all on the palate. It's a perfect wine for fish dishes of all types—from delicate sea bass to hearty smoked salmon. A votre santé!

It is a flexible, eager-to-please grape, responding well to just about anything a winemaker...
