Yuzu Japanese Gin

Here's a gin for the discerning spirits enthusiast with a sweet potato shochu base & botanical building blocks native to the Miyazaki Prefecture where the Kyoya Distillery is located. Take a moment to familiarize yourself with hyuganatsu, a pithy sort of pomelo hybrid. Have you met hebesu, a local delicacy of the region? This small green citrus is a super fruit purported to fight the aging process, neuroinflammatory issues & cancer. Say hello to sansho, a versatile peppercorn whose buds and flowers can also be incorporated into various culinary fare. In line with the other botanicals, this plant is also a member of the citrus family and a host plant for at least two species of butterflies. And don't forget the yuzu, both tart and intensely aromatic. Bright & refreshing, this will be the star of my cocktail show all summer.
