Khikhvi, Andria Gvino - 2022

8000 years. Just imagine, 8000 years ago people at the territory of the the modern country Georgia made the wines. And they still do it. Very often using the same old techniques. Andria Gvino winery is in that number. They are looking to have high quality wines, and compromise quantity for that. They do not irrigate their vineyards, do not use any fertilizers, and perform green harvest as well. For that reason, they have 3-4 times less crop in our vineyards than usual growers. This wine is made from bio/organically treated, very rare grape variety - Khikhvi. It's made in Qvevri with eastern Georgian traditional vinification method, with 100% skins contact and several months of maceration. Wine is very intensive, high in tannins. It has distinguished aromas and long finish. It matches well with spicy food, roasted meat, or aged cheeses.
