From a vineyard planted in 1996 on schist soils in McLaren Vale. A serious and structured Syrah with flavors of sweet berries, sweet herbs, green peppery, undergrowth characters, and anise notes with fine tannins. Bottled unfiltered after aging the wine in old French barrique. Where's the Pope is named after a hard care band of the area.
