Four Roses Small Batch Select Bourbon

If you’re a fan or historian of American Whiskey, you’re sure to have heard of and tasted the Four Roses line of bourbons. Since 1888, the distillery has been pumping out bourbons based on ten different recipes, combining them for their Yellow Label or bottling single barrels for restaurants or stores such as Astor. For their fourth mainstay in the family, Brent Elliot’s newest Small Batch is the alchemic fusion of 6-7 year old bourbons that are a combination of six of the ten recipes Four Roses utilizes; three different yeast strains and both mash bills in the mix. Aromas of cookie dough, candied apples, milk chocolate, and orchard fruit parade the nose as this full bodied, creamy bourbon hits with richness and sprigs of mint. Even at 104 proof, this is a mellow, refined bourbon that illustrates complexity and potency.
