Staff Pick Notes

I originally set out to do a staff pick on Rogue Vine's white wine, but I couldn't resist shouting out their 'Grand Itata Tinto' as well! To recap my other staff pick...two friends making unique wine in Itata Hills + minimal intervention + vines on steep granite hills! The first vineyards in Itata were planted in the 1500's, a result of the Spanish realizing they could implement dry farming with bush vines. Itata was an acclaimed wine region until the 1800's, when other Chilean regions became more popular due to greater ease of farming. This red is mostly Cinsault and a hint of Pais, perfect to drink chilled with your favorite people this summer. Notes of bright red fruit, light tannins, and refreshing minerality from Pacific Ocean influence allow this bottle to perfectly pair with burgers on the grill.
