Item # 38705 750 mL

Nero di Troia, a native rare grape from Puglia, is also known as Uva di Troia. The skin of the grape is especially thick meaning that the wine is also rich in the healthful polyphenols. This is a robust, full-bodied red wine that is unoaked.

Staff Pick Notes

Legend says that: Greek hero of the battle of Troy, Diomedes, brought the wine to Puglia when he settled there after the fall of the ancient city. This is a high quality grape from the “heel” of Italy that has been totally overshadowed by the two dominant red wine grapes of the regionof Puglia, namely Negroamaro and Primitivo. I think Nero di Troia, deserves some good recognition. This is so tasteful, full bodied, unoaked red, taste of red and black fruits with notes of vanilla, along with plum and blackberry and tobacco. It is super food friendly and nicely pair from grilled meats to green vegetables. There are many legends but I prefer this one, in my glass to rise for the hero of Troy.
