Coteaux Bourguignons, Stéphane Magnien - 2023

750 mL
Item # 38660

The Coteaux Bourguignons appellation is a relative new-comer and is meant to replace the former Bourgogne Grande Ordinaire bottlings. Still all Pinot Noir, this is meant to be an every day type of Burgundy with it's dark yet juicy fruit character that is still very much in line with what you think of as French Burgundy.

Staff Pick Notes

Sometimes all you need to know about a wine is who made it, because as time goes on you’ll find yourself coming back to the same panel of producers that just seem to know you. Stéphane Magnien is fast becoming one of those producers. His Coteaux Bourguignons greatly exceeds the expectations set by this designation of wine. The aroma is light and earthy while still conveying the rich fruit that awaits you on the palate. Taste bold red fruits, tobacco, and spice. The vintage gives it some hearty tannins that provide structure without making the wine overly bitter. M. Magnien makes wines I didn’t know I wanted.

Terroir, the concept that wines from a specific region have unique and identifiable traits, is intricately...

Burgundy

Fans of rich, unctuous, and well-oaked Chardonnay will enjoy Chassagne-Montrachet, whose age-worthy offerings offer all the fatness of a California wine, yet retain a very Burgundian, mineral-driven core and great acidity....
