Timorasso Colli Tortonesi "Fausto", Vigne Marina Coppi - 2021

I find that wine consumers praise Barolo and Barbaresco wines the most from Piedmont and for good reason! However, there are other varietals worthy of your consideration and I believe Timorasso should rank high on that list. The grapes for this Timorasso are sourced from the Colli Tortonesi DOC just east of the city of Alessandria and the wine itself is spectacular. On the palate, you will find notes of green apple, pear, white peach, lemon and honey. On the nose, you will detect notes of white flowers and what smells like beeswax. This is a full-bodied white wine that possesses a level of salinity akin to what you'd find in a vermentino or grillo. This wine is highly delicious as is now, but it also has the capacity to age should you wish to cellar this bottle away for a few years. - Nick
