Staff Pick Notes

With so many delicious options available in the wine world it can be difficult to pick favorites. One way to narrow things down is by region. When it comes to wines from Long Island, Onabay Yellow Crown Chardonnay will always be at the top of my list. The estate-vineyard is perched at the edge of Peconic Bay, a unique location with mixed soils of clay, gravel & loam. The bay side of the North Fork offers a bit more warmth and protection during the growing season. Grapes are hand-harvested in the early morning to protect the fruit from oxidation, ultimately offering a fresh and juicy style of wine. This unoaked Chardonnay pairs well with the abundance of seafood available from the adjacent waters of the bay, Atlantic Ocean, or the Long Island Sound. When you try it, I bet it will top your list, too.

It is a flexible, eager-to-please grape, responding well to just about anything a winemaker...
