I've tasted thousands of wines from Italy over the years. This is hands down one of the most versatile and balanced reds to ever come out of the Lazio region (the area outside of Rome). This medium-bodied red has the perfect combination of fruit and earth tones. It is warm, generous, rustic, and pure. The perfect everyday bottle, this is a blend of Montepulciano and Sangiovese along with the native Roman grape, Cesanese. This would be perfect alongside any red sauce pasta. The best would be to pair it with a bucatini all'amatriciana for a true taste of Rome.

This rugged red staple can be anything from a simply fruited, easy-drinking wine to a serious, more structured offering, complete with all the depth and earthiness that can come from old-vine fruit and ideally placed vineyards.
