Mr Black Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur

Item # 37181 750 mL

Perhaps the best coffee liqueur we have tasted to date. Mr Black is engineered to appeal to serious coffee aficionados by emphasizing the purity of coffee flavor using a rare blend of three beans from different sources that are each roasted and brewed separately and then blended for a maximum range of flavor and balance. A great bottle with wide ranging appeal and potential.

Staff Pick Notes

I traditionally have shied away from anything that claims to have Coffee flavors. Save for the real thing. Mr. Black is the real thing! This liqueur is crafted with Australian wheat vodka, a touch of cane sugar, and 100% Arabica coffee sourced from Colombia, Kenya, and Papua New Guinea. The brand works directly with the farmers, co-ops, and importers to ensure that all workers are treated with respect, even requiring each grower to sign a commitment to the ethical sourcing policy. Mr. Black is vegan, gluten-free, and certified kosher, but one thing to note is that it does contains up to 40 percent of the caffeine found in a single shot of espresso. While this is a welcome addition to keep on any bar cart, my favorite application is a quick and boozy Affogato. Coffee + Gelato.

Australia

Australian Shiraz (made from the grape called “Syrah” in other parts of the world) shows the essence of the outback: it’s big, bold, and a little rough around the edges. The climate of South Australia’s McLaren Vale district is heavily influenced by the ocean; wines here typically show savory notes of olive and spice on the nose and deep berry flavors on the palate....
