Being the only distillery on this small, remote Scottish island, Jura has always strived to make as well rounded and complete of whisky as possible, relying on themselves to provide all of the great things that Scotch has to offer in each expression. This newly released and revamped ten year is a perfect example of that effort. Distilled on tall stills that make a light, clean and lightly peated spirit, a decade is spent in American white oak barrels before a period of months finishing in oloroso sherry butts. The whisky is soft and buttery on the nose that peels off layers over some time in the glass showing off notes of cured meat, maple syrup, cookie dough, salted caramel, heather, pumpkin seeds, porridge and a hint of oolong tea. An absolutely beautiful whisky.
