Stunning aromas filled with wild blackberry, spice and hints of violets enliven the senses every time I sniff the glass. Giving ripe fruit but dry ( completely vinnified.) The talented family that makes this wine came down from Tuscany for a better way of life and has been taking advantage of the high quality, mineral driven soil at the base of the extinct Vulture Volcano. This ancient variety of Aglianico has traveled from Greece 2,00 years ago and still makes wines of class and distinction. Please save some of this wine for me as I will be back for more!

Aglianico

Brought to Italy by the Greeks in the 6th century B.C., Aglianico enjoyed an early heyday in the ancient world as one of the key components of Falernum, a wine revered by kings and poets. After nearly being wiped out by Phylloxera in the 19th century, the grape is now experiencing a great revival in southern Italy.
