Staff Pick Notes

This is one of the very first apperetifs I tasted when beginning my time at Astor and it has remained at the very top of my list! A collaboration between the proprietors of the Michelberger Hotel, with Gerald Schroff and Dr. Ulf Stahl (aka “The Professor”) of Preussishe Spirituosen Manufaktur (PSM) , the last distillery of its kind in the city of Berlin. The 'Michelberger Forest Krauterlikor' is almost amaro-like in the glass, using a neutral sugar beet base spirit that incorporates botanicals such as gentian root, vanilla, lemon balm, orange peel, and star anise that ages in earthen pots for a minimum of 3 months. Bright and softly sweet, like farm fresh honey with twists of citrus, clove, and toffee that makes the perfect digestif to make a great night that much better.
