THIS, Ladies and Gentleman, is what you call a porch pounder. Don’t be scared off by an unknown name, Elbling (the grape variety here) is just what you would expect from the Mosel. When you crave the unmistakable brilliant zing of a Mosel Riesling, but the dry ones have too much alcohol and the lower alcohol options are too sweet – like drinking al fresco on a warm summer day – reach for this full liter of refreshment. But when the weather is colder don’t sleep on this as an easy pairing for fish and seafood, especially sushi.
