In the hot and humid summer of 1885 a local pharmacist in this picturesque pocket of the Loire Valley was seeking a remedy to cure his patients of the intense heat of the season. His creation would transform his business and help creat what is now one of the world's great liqueur companies. Menthe Pastille is intensely bright and refreshing aided by the use of special Mitcham peppermint leaves that conjure up flavors of both fresh herbs and mint candies. The ultimate aperitif, Menthe Pastille is excellent on the rocks with a splash of sparkling water and a substantial garnish of fresh mint leaves or mixed into classic cocktails like the Stinger, but we encourage you to experiment with this very versatile and often overlooked spirit.
