Staff Pick Notes

Agave de Cortes Joven is a beautiful expression of 100% Espadin Agave and the terroir of Santiago Matatlan, courtesy of three Generations of distillation experience from the Cortes Family -- the same family responsible for bottling the El Jolgorio line of Mezcals. On the nose, subdued smoke lays the groundwork for vegetal ripeness, tropical fruit and floral notes. The palate shows a pop of minerality, while a balanced 45% ABV mingles with layers and layers of flavor: lemongrass, damp earth and dense clay/mineral are coated by rich body and silky texture. I've never had a Mezcal at this price-point surprise as much as this did. High quality stuff! Sure you can mix it, but why would you?
