Staff Pick Notes

Niepoort has been producing awesome Port wines since 1842, but also produces unfortified wines in five of Portugal's wine regions! Niepoort's "Rotulo" Dao 2019 is a red table wine made from Touriga Nacional. Old vines and granite based terroir lend a hand in this wine's smooth texture and and subtle minerality. I enjoyed this easy-drinking red, and definitely caught the similarities in this bottle to a Beaujolais-style - juicy red fruit, a hint of earth, and a soft, lightly tannic mouthfeel. Maybe it was just from my commute home in the cold, but I drank this Dao tinto with a slight chill. Great to enjoy on its own if you're craving a glass of light and easy red!

Sometimes known as Tinta...

They also show their terroir quite clearly, and represent a great alternative to the modern fruit-driven style. Vinho Verde is Portugal’s most famous white wine. Literally translated as "green wine," it...
