From the great Demerara Distillers Ltd. of Guyana comes this12-year-old rum. Perhaps the most distinctive of the El Dorado range, this rum like the others is produced from 100% Demerara sugar cane, and after over a decade aging in oak the spirit is medium-bodied, with notes that include, fresh peeled oranges, mocha java, old leather, fresh tobacco leaves, coconut shells, butterscotch, and more.

El Dorado is one of the legendary names in Caribbean Rum production, operating at the last remaining distillery in Guyana on the East bank of the Demerara River! Once home to over 300 distilleries, there is now only one. The whole range is worth exploring, but the 12 is my personal go to since it presents optimal value compared to other spirits of similar age.
