Staff Pick Notes

2015

I am the least Cab Sauv guy in the world. I mean just shortening Cabernet Sauvignon to Cab or Cab Sauv makes me feeling kinda icky. People drinking young red, full- bodied wines in the summer time is a pet peeve of mine as well. But I do have a special place in my heart for a Cali Cabernet Sauvigon with the the right amount age and specificity. Astor bought out the last of the 2015 vintage from the winery and the beauty and elegance on display here is outstanding. Some bright, still primary fruit persists, blending with evolved herbaceousness and a very mellow wood influence to make for a wonderful drinking experience.

Today, Cabernet Sauvignon has a...
