Item # 30498 750 mL

Gavi is a white Piedmontese specialty wine made exclusively of the Cortese grape variety. This is unoaked, redolent of apricots, citrus, and white flowers. This Gavi does not go through malolactic fermentation and therefore has an especially vibrant acidity that will work well at the table with calamari or roast chicken.

Staff Pick Notes

Gavi di Gavi, also know as Gavi di Cortese, is a native wine grown only in the sub-region of Piedmont known as Province of Alessandria. This grape tends to thrive in elevated cooler climates, often on steep terrain, and always surrounded by plush mineral packed soils. The La Mesma vineyard is a small operation of 26 hectre run by the Rosina sister's, Paola, Francesca, and Anna. Their philosophy is to let the grapes and the land speak for themselves, with minimal intervention in the growing process, as well as delicate, and precise hand farming methods. The love these sisters feel towards their vineyard is reflected in this glass of crisp refreshing Gavi. It's an easy choice for any occasion.

Gavi

Gavi, made from the light-skinned Cortese grape, is becoming hugely popular lately. Everyone who tastes Gavi seems to love it; it's a can't-miss wine for anyone looking for something new in a white.

Cortese

A white variety grown throughout much of Italy, but most widely known for the lovely wines it produces in Piedmont's Gavi DOCG. The best Cortese wines are fresh, aromatic and fruity, with a bracing minerality and citrus on the finish.
