Tsipouro Greek Pomace Brandy

An excellent pure tsipouro from a traditional Greek distillery is nothing short of an eye-opening addition to our selection. This classic Greek spirit is made in a similar style to Italian grappa by double-distilling dark berries after a slow, whole-fruit mass fermentation. The result is a surprisingly charming spirit with never-ending aromas of rose petal, black plums, figs, and green vines. The liquid has nice weight to it on the palate and the flavors are consistent with the nose, adding a very long note of rum raisin that hangs on the back of the palate. This version from the Loukato Distillery is made in the preferred way of Greece, without the use of anise.
