Staff Pick Notes

Located inside the Priorat region, the Montsant Appellation follow the Priorat style of winemaking, but not for the Joan D'anguera winery. When two brothers Josep and Joan took over the family business in 2000, they changed the heavy, muscular wine style for a more moderate, elegant and delicate. The 2015 Altaroses is from Biodynamic certified grenache, the wine is aged for one year in old barrel (5-6 years old barrels), a little sulfite is used during aging and at bottling. At first it feels big but wait 20 minutes, the nose is clean and rich, medium tannin, same for acidity with integrated oak.
