Nama and namacho sakes are some of the most expressive sakes you can try without breaking the bank. While a highly polished daigingo will be delicate and fruity, namas often have more of a satisfying upfront fruit flavor that is quite surprising compared to the mild, grainy tasting junmai that you find at this price. Asabiraki's namacho does all of the above in a fun 300ml format for a fun $9. Although I usually drink this bottle by itself, sake pairings extend far beyond Japanese cuisine.
