Marsannay "Clos du Roy," Dom. Sylvain Pataille

Marsannay "Clos du Roy," Dom. Sylvain Pataille - 2020

Item # 28247 750 mL

A cool Burgundy that shows character as well as fruit. This high-toned Marsannay is a delight with its tight black cherried fruit, tart berried acidity and velveteen tannins. A warm finish makes for a good pairing with braised poultry, hearty stews or stuffed mushrooms. Clos du Roy is one of the recognized "lieux-dits"of Marsannay; the soils are dark brown, dry and contain marls and clay with stones and gravels helping for a good drainage.Sylvain's first vintage was in 2001. He works as naturally as possible - natural yeasts, no additional ingredients in vinification.

Terroir, the concept that wines from a specific region have unique and identifiable traits, is intricately...

Burgundy

Fans of rich, unctuous, and well-oaked Chardonnay will enjoy Chassagne-Montrachet, whose age-worthy offerings offer all the fatness of a California wine, yet retain a very Burgundian, mineral-driven core and great acidity....
