Item # 27566 750 mL

Made from--you guessed it--six different Merlot clones, including two rare French ones and a very rare Italian clone grown on the Peirano estate in Lodi. Staff Pick Notes

It's been several years since a Hollywood movie called "Sideways" put the kibosh on Merlot, causing sales to plummet. Since hitting bottom, Merlot has been working its way back in a slow but regular fashion. This juicy one is from Lodi, CA and is an excellent example of the winemaker's modern style: fresh, fruity, and medium-bodied. The color is medium-light, indicating that it comes from a cooler-climate area. It has spent 12 months in mostly neutral French oak barrels. If you are looking for a wine with more body than a Pinot Noir to go with your Thanksgiving or Christmas turkey dinner with all of the great side dishes, then this is it. And the price is absolutely affordable.
