I’m normally skeptical of bottles at this price point - they tend to be overly manipulated and make me feel gross the next day. This Navarra-based producer, however, is part of Nicolas Joly’s Return to Terroir group, which carries weight in the wine world, signifying that the wines are made in an honest way. This is a young blend of Garnacha and Tempranillo without being aggressively fresh. Rustic, gamey, savory spices and tart black cherries will all be part of your enjoyment. Let it open for a while before diving in. I’ve found it’s gotten even better staying open for a few days, so it’s great to have for a couple of glasses here and there throughout the week. Honest wine at this price point is hard to come by. Don’t overthink this one.
