Staff Pick Notes

You know every now and then I get the urge to drink something new and different. This can sometimes be disappointing, sometimes a great success but whatever always a truly worth well exercise as this is how you can expand both your knowledge & pallet. This wonderful Carignan from Languedoc-Roussillon nestled under the Pyrennes where France meets Spain was a great success and the combination of this and my cinnamon Lamb Moussaka was spot on & perfect! The nose starts off fruit dominate with a baked cherry essence and intense black fruits. Evolving in the glass developing hints of licorice & herbs. The palate is lively and refreshing with great juicy black currant hints of pepper and well balanced & integrated tannins. I highly recommend this. Try something new & lovely tonight. Cheers Stephen W.

For years, this naturally high-yielding grape suffered from overproduction, but New World winemakers have lately taken up the Carignan cause and produced some distinctive and delicious examples. Now that it is subject to...
