Staff Pick Notes

This is one of those amazing wines that over delivers. It takes your expectations of a $20~ white wine to a place of no return. The nose transports you to running barefoot through sandy, peach tree lined beaches. Grabbing soft ripe fruit from earthy branches, white skin tinged with crimson-crusted sun spots and salty ocean air. The Saumur Blanc, Ch. du Hureau tastes like melting into an old rocking chair perched upon a wraparound porch on a warm summer night. Crickets singing, cloaking your sun soaked shoulders up into the corner of a warm blanket. Scooping spoonfuls from a bowl of pineapple sherbet.

Excavations left from building castles and palaces resulted in a network of hundreds of miles of underground tunnels, which local vintners have taken advantage of as ready-made wine cellars! ...

Chenin Blanc

A versatile grape that is grown worldwide, but is most commonly associated with the Loire, California, Australia, South Africa, and New Zealand. It produces just about any type of wine you can think of: ageworthy dessert wines; delicious, honeyed dry whites; sparklers; and even bases for fortified wines and spirits. These days, one of the most exciting stories is in South Africa, where newly adopted winemaking technologies have helped a dedicated group of producers to bring the country's dry...
