Yalumba "Y Series" Cabernet Sauvignon - 2021

Item # 24449 750 mL

A balanced and cassis-driven Cabernet Sauvignon from the oldest winery in Australia. Family owned since 1849, they strive to use as little intervention in their viticulture as possible. A more fruit-forward Cabernet Sauvignon, this dry red sees just a touch of oak influence. Pair with rich meat dishes like a spinach and beef lasagna.

Staff Pick Notes

Yalumba have been making incredible wines since 1849. They also operate the Southern Hemisphere’s only full operational cooperage, crafting bespoke oak barrels that elevate the wines aged within them. In addition, since 1975, The Yalumba Nursery is Australia’s most reliable source of quality grafted grapevines and a world leader in the study of viticulture. You would think that with all this going on they would make expensive, exclusive wines beyond the means of most people but no, for twelve dollars the Y series is delicious and handily shows Yalumba’s 150 years of wine making experience. On the nose, rich aromas of satsuma plums and violets are balanced by savory herbs. The palate is fruited and full with distinctive tannins that show why Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the world’s most enjoyed varieties. Pair with chile cheeseburgers.

Today, Cabernet Sauvignon has a...
