Staff Pick Notes

Jasnières is my favorite expression of Chenin Blanc in the world. Vouvray gets a lot of love, and deservedly so, but if I really need a bottle to soothe my weary soul, then this is it. Sourced from Domaine de Bellivière's vines that are up to 50 years old, this is fermented in mostly used oak barrels with just one quarter aged in new oak. It is beautifully off-dry, and is just so damn good that I need to wipe tears away every time I taste it. In a world where nature and humanity are in a constant fight for dominance, this collaborative viticultural effort gives me at least a glimpse of hope for a possible future.
