Lambrusco dell'Emilia, Camillo Donati - 2023

Item # 22009 750 mL

Camillo Donati is a staunch traditionalist who allows his sparkling wines to undergo their second fermentation in bottle rather than in tank like most of his contemporaries in the region. This is a dry and food-friendly style of Lambrusco.

Staff Pick Notes

This Lambrusco is for the individuals who like to get FUNKY! Upon first popping the crown cap of this bottle you get aromas of nestling a sheep whose wool is deeply coated with barnyard funk. Medium body and bubbly with a killer acidity that will brighten the back of your palate. Grippy tannins with a newspaper-like ink, all wrapped in dark, luminous purple plums with the juice of black-almost-blue cherries, finishing with cold-pressed barnyard hay! If you are a lover of natural wines and swimming in the sparkling deep red seas of Lambrusco, then grab this bottle.
