Staff Pick Notes

If you think American sparklers don't stand up to their Champenoise counterparts, taste this and re-evaluate your opinion. Schramsberg holds an esteemed position in American winemaking, both historically and in terms of innovation. Initially founded by Jacob Schram in the 1860s, this Mount Diamond estate has time and again proved itself as a prime spot for wine grape production. The winery closed in 1912, but was revived by the Davies family in the mid 1960s. Since then continuous improvements to the property demonstrate the family's commitment to environmental and eonological progress. A blend of two parts Pinot Noir and one part Chardonnay from North Coast vineyards, evoking raspberry, stone fruits, and subtle spice, this juice can win the heart and palate of any Champagne snob.
