Staff Pick Notes

Sometimes a splurge is necessary. An anniversary, a birthday, maybe just a bottle for a mid-week slump that needs uplifting. A perfectly paired butter-poached lobster would pair beautifully, but so would a perfect plate of breaded chicken cutlets and buttery, mashed potatoes for an after work meal. A wine of richness, nuances of fruit, smoke, and spice. Complex aromas from baked apples and preserved peaches to tart pineapple and ripe honeydew melon. Rich and rounded on the palate with notes of toasted hazelnuts and sweet spices of cardamom, cinnamon and vanilla. A creamy, lemon-curd-like finish rounds out the palate and, also, my Wednesday evening.
