Jim Beam Black 7yr. Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

To say this Bourbon caught me by surprise would be an understatement. We recently had an opportunity to taste the core line of the Jim Beam portfolio side by side with the Beam team, and this was the first whiskey we sampled. Spoiler alert: it ended up being my favorite! Jim Beam is American distilling royalty, dating to the late 1700s with 8 consecutive generations of Master Distillers. It's safe to say they’ve learned a few things along the way. Freddie Noe, the current Master Distiller, along with his father Fred, decided to buck the trend and not only give the consumer more insight by adding an age statement to the Black, but also bottling at 90 proof. Loads of caramel, vanilla, and maple jump out of this bottle, and the texture is mouth coating & full. The distinctive Jim Beam yeast also adds a unique nuttiness. A top value!
