Les Grandes Places is a vineyard that was planted in 1935 using a low-yielding clone of Syrah called Sérine. Massale selection of this site has been made ever since in order to propogate this special vine. From impossible soils of granite at slopes that can only be worked by hand. All syrah that was partially destemmed before fermenting with native yeasts. Aged for 2 years in oak barrels - 25% of which were new.

Shiraz

We'd like to clear this up once and for all: the Shiraz grape is genetically identical to Syrah. Australian winemakers put "Shiraz" on the map (and, many would argue, vice versa), and the term is now used throughout much of the New World.
