Hosmer Dry Riesling, Cayuga Lake - 2023

750 mL
Item # 10200

This tasty Riesling comes from Hosmer, one of the finest Finger Lakes wineries. This is a dry white wine that boasts all the juicy peach fruit and acidity that we love in this regal grape. In the more marginal climes of upstate New York, this white variety does very well.

Staff Pick Notes

I confess I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to Riesling. Or, to be kinder, call it a bias, specifically toward Teutonic expressions of this noble grape. If you're going to drink Riesling, and you should, why drink anything other than those from Germany, especially from the minerally heights of the Mosel. Over time, however, I've had to acknowledge that Rieslings from other parts of the world are an important part of the Riesling conversation. It's a grape that truly expresses the soil, climate, and place where it's grown, and this manifests in a multitude of styles, which I've grown to appreciate. Hosmer's dry Riesling brings a lot to the table. With bright fresh fruit, lime, ginger, honeysuckle and a minerally finish, this is an absolute delight to drink. It shows what the Finger Lakes can do in the hands of a talented winemaker.

They are careful to retain the delightful honeyed, flinty flavors that the best sweet Rieslings have always displayed. Alsace, of...
