Staff Pick Notes

An amazing 18 year old Scotch from the first recorded distillery on Islay (eye-la) founded over two hundred years ago in 1779. This is a wonderful expression and example of all that is great about a peated single malt. The nose has an amazing cigar box, soft tobacco smokiness to it with hints of coffee adding to the sensory mix. The palate opens up into a sublime combination of chocolate, coca butter and a delicious salted caramel. The finish wonderfully smooth and sweet. I really love this whisky and urge you to try it. The smoke element is so approachable unlike some other Islay The Bowmore doesn't have that Iodine medicinal nose that can be a little on the scary side! Cheers Stephen W.
