L'Encantada Renaissance 32yr Domaine Artigaux Bas-Armagnac - 1989

This new collection from the premier bottlers of Armagnac highlights exceptional casks from producers that define what great Armagnac is. Some of these producers are so small they may only produce a single cask per vintage, and other producers have ceased to make brandy altogether making these remaining casks even more rare. The oldest release in the current trilogy for this series, it's no surpirse that this brandy is the most profound of the lot. There is a lot going on but the tertiary aspects of age have triumphantly taken over the profile here with sweet tobacco, chocolate praline - the palate is dry with chalky tannins, cedar and supremely mellow.
