The heirloom Abruzzi rye that makes up 100% of this mashbill is still the star of the show, but after 18 months of aging, a small batch of this whiskey was finished in freshly decanted tawny port barrels. The stone fruit and floral driven character of the rare grains used for High Wire Rye make it a natural fit for this kind of finish. The result is a concentrated whiskey with enhanced complexity that is one of the best wine cask finished whiskies we have tasted. Practically impossible not to like. Available in very limited quantities.
