The fruit flavors are quite ripe and sweet but with a spicy, tannic edge and a hint of espresso bean on the finish. Drink with hearty fare.

It's truly a wonderful time to be a Nebbiolo lover. The past decade in Piedmont has seen more than its fair share of good vintages. Even in a difficult vintage like '14 you can rely on many producers like Roagna to not only come thru with excellent efforts but also deliver stupendous value. Case in point, their Langhe Rosso which is actually just a declassified wine of Barolo/Barbaresco status. The declassification to Langhe Rosso is a result of the 'younger' vines (25 yrs old) from both Barolo and Barbaresco appellations. Nevertheless, it receives the same vinification treatment and care of their renown Barbarescos including aging time before release. . The palate reveals layers of complexity while maintaining effortless weight, and a powerful, seamless structure. Decant and savor!

Piedmont

The most famous grape in Piedmont is the noble Nebbiolo, which makes the long-lived Barolo and Barbaresco.
